Senate overrides Cooper's gun veto, bill now returns to House for final vote
Republicans are seeking to enact a bill over the objection of Gov. Roy Cooper for the first time since Democrats broke GOP supermajorities in 2019.
North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Senate on Tuesday voted to override Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of a gun package, the first time the chamber has successfully overridden the governor in nearly four years.
