Cooper vetoes bill seeking to loosen North Carolina gun laws
Senate Bill 41 would allow for concealed handguns at churches located on school property and repeal a state law that requires local sheriffs to approve pistol purchases.
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper on Friday vetoed a bill seeking to ease gun restrictions in the state. The proposal was similar to two separate measures Cooper rejected in 2021 out of concern they could lead to guns getting in the wrong hands.
