Medicaid expansion bill heads to Gov. Cooper

The North Carolina House sent Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper a bill that stands to expand Medicaid to an estimated 600,000 North Carolinians. It would take effect after a new state budget is enacted.

In a strong bipartisan vote, North Carolina’s Republican-controlled House on Thursday sent Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper a measure that stands to expand Medicaid to 600,000 North Carolinians.
