Wray files election protests in all three counties, trails Pierce by 36 votes
North Carolina state Rep. Michael Wray has filed election protests in Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties, alleging some voters were given wrong ballots.
North Carolina’s most conservative Democrat in the General Assembly has filed election protests in all three of his district’s counties, according to filings with the Halifax, Northampton and Warren County elections boards.
Democratic state Rep. Michael Wray trailed Democratic challenger Rodney Pierce by 36 votes of the 11,936 recorded in House District 27, as of Friday afternoon.
