North Carolina elections officials are set to assess whether the Constitution Party will again qualify for recognition as an official state political party.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Constitution Party surpassed the number of valid signatures needed for recognition.
Now that the party has eclipsed the 13,865 required verified signatures before June 1, the State Board of Elections will determine whether organizers met other criteria needed to have their petition approved.
