Trump calls for NCGOP chairman Michael Whatley to lead RNC
Former President Donald Trump wants North Carolina's top Republican Party official to lead the Republican National Committee and to have his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, serve as co-chair.
Former President Donald Trump on Monday urged the Republican National Committee to select NCGOP chairman Michael Whatley as the national party’s next leader.

Current RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel is expected to step down from the post after this month’s South Carolina primary on Feb. 24, though no official announcement has been made.
