Cotham reelected to General Assembly
North Carolina state Rep. Tricia Cotham has won her bid for reelection to the state House. She was the top legislative target of Democrats in the 2024 election.

North Carolina Republican state Rep. Tricia Cotham of Mecklenburg County has won her reelection bid, fending off an aggressive effort by local, state and national Democrats to unseat her in what was perhaps the most closely watched legislative seat in the state.
Cotham declared victory early Wednesday, writing on X, “With all precincts reporting, I am thrilled to have been re-elected to another term in the NC House. Thank you for all of your support, and I look forward to representing YOU for another term.”
But the Associated Press has yet to call the race. Anderson Alerts is making the race call at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, based on voting data the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections shared with WFAE reporter Steve Harrison on Wednesday afternoon.
