To tout law enforcement support, Democratic lawmaker sends campaign mailer of supporters wearing fake police jackets

It’s that time of year where North Carolina voters see their mailboxes flooded with unsolicited political ads.
One flier from state Sen. Lisa Grafstein caught her Republican opponent off guard when it arrive at his home last month.
“Lisa Grafstein is supported by North Carolina’s Police & Teachers,” the top of the mailer says.
Below that: a photo of her standing outside the Fuquay-Varina Police Department alongside the mayor pro tem of Morrisville and another man wearing wrinkled blue jackets labeled “POLICE.”
