North Carolina’s top Republican in the state House has decisively won his primary bid in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District.
State House Speaker Tim Moore now advances to the general election, where he’ll take on Brendan Maginnis, a Democratic U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The matchup isn’t expected to be competitive, as the district swung for former President Donald Trump in 2020 by more than 16 percentage points.
On Tuesday, Moore handily defeated his two GOP primary opponents, Jeff Gregory and Lillian Joseph.
