Senate Republicans approved a bill on Wednesday that prevents Attorney General Jeff Jackson from challenging President Donald Trump’s executive orders.
Senate Bill 58, which cleared on a 28-17 party-line vote, expands upon a sweeping 132-page bill last year that included a provision preventing Jackson from challenging any measure passed by the Republican-controlled General Assembly.
Jackson’s office declined to comment on whether the attorney general would sue over either of the laws.
