Senate approves Medicaid expansion bill
The proposal now goes to the House. It will then be sent to Gov. Roy Cooper. Once signed, the measure would become effective after the state enacts a new budget.
The North Carolina Senate on Wednesday approved a bill that stands to expand access to Medicaid for 600,000 residents who currently earn too much to qualify for conventional Medicaid. The proposal now goes the House, after which it’ll move to Gov. Roy Cooper for final approval.
