'Not concerned about campaign gossip' Robinson team says Trump hasn't urged him to end gubernatorial bid
On Tuesday, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson's gubernatorial campaign said the former president hasn't requested Robinson bow out of the race, despite reports of some Trump advisers seeking his exit.

When revelations emerged of Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson writing in online forums that he liked transgender porn, peeped inside women’s locker rooms and wanted to own slaves, Republicans across North Carolina and nationally distanced themselves from the gubernatorial hopeful. Some Republicans also called for Robinson to drop out.
Shortly after the scandal broke, Trump held a rally in Wilmington. Robinson, whom Trump has previously described as “Martin Luther King on steroids,” was notably absent from the rally and omitted from the former president’s remarks.
In a correspondence released on Tuesday by a liberal group targeting Republicans, a senior Trump adviser wrote that the former president would like Robinson to bow out of the governor’s race.
