Robinson fined $35K over campaign finance violations
The North Carolina State Board of Elections this month fined Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson's campaign over $35,000 due to campaign finance violations from 2019 and 2020.
North Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was fined more than $35,000 this month over a number of campaign finance violations made during his first bid for public office in 2019 and 2020, according to a newly released settlement agreement.
An investigation from the State Board of Elections concluded in September. But the findings weren’t made public until earlier this month due to a 2018 law approved by GOP lawmakers that ended election board hearings on donation complaints.
