Robinson campaign threatens legal action over false endorsement pushed in Triad congressional race
A Washington, D.C political group supporting retired Army Lt. Col. Christian Castelli is falsely claiming that Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is supporting Castelli.
A highly contentious primary in the Triad got messier on Thursday, as Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson pushed back on a false endorsement being touted by supporters of retired Army Lt. Col. Christian Castelli, who is running in the Greensboro-area 6th Congressional District.
In a video posted on social media on Thursday by the First Freedoms Foundation, a D.C. political group with just one recorded donor, Robinson touts his support for Castelli.
The problem: The video was taken weeks before the 2022 general election when Castelli was looking to unseat Democratic Rep. Kathy Manning. The group has since deleted its post on X, but didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
