A reshaped North Carolina House
North Carolina Speaker Destin Hall has reduced the number of House standing committees by 25%, with some groups eliminated and others reconfigured.

When North Carolina lawmakers return to Raleigh in a week, they’ll do so with a substantially reconfigured chamber.
On Wednesday, House Speaker Destin Hall announced committee chairmanships. And for the upcoming legislative session, there will be 25% fewer House standing committees than last year— a reduction from 44 to 33.
Seven of the 11 committees have been scrapped altogether:
