Supreme Court denies Griffin's request to overturn election, says protest must first go through lower court
The North Carolina Supreme Court unanimously rejected Griffin's request to overturn the state Supreme Court race, but the race remains far from over.
The North Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday unanimously rejected Republican Court of Appeals Judge Jefferson Griffin’s request to overturn his apparent defeat in the Supreme Court race and won’t schedule oral arguments in the ongoing dispute.
But the order didn’t go so far as to pave the way for Democratic Justice Allison Riggs to have an apparent victory of 734 votes certified.
