Senate OK's bill prohibiting transgender females from competing on women's sports teams
The Senate agreed with the House's provision compelling biological males to compete on male athletics at the collegiate level, but made some changes to the bill. The measure now returns to the House.
The North Carolina Senate on Tuesday approved a bill to prevent transgender females from competing on girl’s and women’s middle school, high school and collegiate sports teams.
But unlike the House version of the bill, the Senate’s tweaks allow for transgender men to compete in male sports.
