Redistricting season is upon us
North Carolina lawmakers are set to hold their first redistricting committee meetings next week, giving the first opportunity for the public to weigh in on what they want to see.
Remember that nice fall break lawmakers were looking forward to having after they passed the budget? That plan appears to be out the window.
Next week, the legislature will kick off its redistricting process with three committee meetings. The forums held by the Senate Redistricting and Elections Committee Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the first opportunity for the public to weigh in on what they consider fair voting maps and a just process.
