NC court orders state to print new ballots without RFK Jr.'s name on them
North Carolina elections administrators had been set to begin sending out ballots Friday. A court order says new ballots must now be printed without RFK Jr.'s name.
A three-judge panel on the North Carolina Court of Appeals on Friday ordered that the state couldn’t proceed with mailing out ballots with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on them and directed a lower court to ensure new ballots are printed without RFK’s name listed among the presidential candidates.
The unanimous decision, which could be appealed, is the latest step in a monthslong saga over the fate of the third-party candidate. The court order serves as a win for Republicans who had feared Kennedy Jr.’s inclusion on the ballot could hurt President Donald Trump’s chances of winning the state.
