Mark Robinson is receiving pushback from opponents he won't debate, Phil Berger dodged a primary challenge, Mary Wills Bode won't seek reelection and Addison McDowell is officially a candidate.
Apologies for coming in late to your feed tonight (or technically very early this morning). We had a whole lot of candidate shuffling on Thursday and some filings that were published a few hours later than anticipated.
Most 2024 candidates will have until noon on Friday to submit their paperwork. At 4 p.m., the state elections board will hold a drawing and coin flip to randomly determine the order candidates will appear on the ballot for the 2024 primary and general elections.
