Stein, Robinson to square off in contentious governor’s race
Democratic AG Josh Stein and Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson have taken frequent aim at one another. They'll now compete in one of the country’s costliest and most important gubernatorial races.
North Carolina Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein and Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will compete in the general election. It’s expected to be one of the nation’s most expensive and divisive gubernatorial races in November.
On Tuesday, Stein handily defeated his top primary opponent, former state Supreme Court Justice Mike Morgan. Robinson easily defeated trial lawyer Bill Graham and State Treasurer Dale Folwell.
