Bill shifting $10M away from Granville Co. water project heads to Stein
It's just the second bill lawmakers have sent to Gov. Josh Stein this year.

North Carolina lawmakers on Tuesday sent Democratic Gov. Josh Stein a technical corrections bill. The 25-page measure is supposed to include minor tweaks to previous spending bills. But it’s raising eyebrows among a handful of Democrats, particularly in Granville County.
On Tuesday, it passed with little discussion by a vote of 69-35.
In the 2023 budget, state lawmakers gave the city of Oxford $10 million for a regional water project. Then-Rep. Frank Sossamon, a Republican, and then-Sen. Mary Wills Bode, a Democrat, championed the effort.
