North Carolina Democratic Party Anderson Clayton on Saturday won a contested reelection bid and will serve another two years as state party leader.

North Carolina Democratic Party leaders on Saturday voted to reelect Anderson Clayton as state party chair.
Clayton will now lead the state party for another two-year term, where she’ll play a critical role in recruiting candidates, fundraising and setting electoral priorities for the 2026 midterms.
"I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure we have the resources we need to champion, educate and create more Democratic power in our state,” Clayton told party leaders at a winter meeting in Wilson.
Clayton soundly defeated Marlando Pridgen, a former congressional candidate, with 405 votes for Clayton and 71 for Pridgen, or 85% to 15%.
